Rawspec, a new brand launched by Holloway Group, has introduced Australia’s first large-scale product range made from certified recycled resin derived from household soft plastics collected across the country. The recycled material is produced by i QRenew at its advanced soft plastics processing facility on the New South Wales Mid North Coast. The resin is then used to manufacture a range of 23 Australian-made products, including storage crates, pails and building materials, which began rolling out to major retailers and local councils from November 2025. The initiative addresses longstanding concerns about what happens to soft plastics after the collapse of supermarket collection schemes in 2022. By converting used packaging into high-performance products, the partnership demonstrates that soft plastics can be effectively recycled and remanufactured within Australia. Matthew Holloway, owner and director of Holloway Group, said the launch proves household soft plastics can be transformed into practical products for everyday use. Danial Gallagher, CEO of i QRenew, said the collaboration creates a new certified material stream that keeps plastic out of landfill and in circulation. Australia generates more than 538,000 tonnes of soft plastics waste each year, much of which has historically been sent to landfill. The Rawspec range provides a local and scalable recycling solution that supports waste reduction, job creation and the growth of Australian manufacturing.
