Bendigo is preparing for a major night of greyhound racing, with the Sportsbet Bendigo Cup heats set to take centre stage at Bendigo on Friday evening. Greyhound Racing Victoria published its preview on Thursday, 24 September 2026, outlining six heats featuring a strong group of local and interstate contenders.

The program will feature six heats, with the winners of each heat progressing to next week’s Bendigo Cup final. The two fastest runners-up will also qualify, creating a competitive pathway for greyhounds that finish behind the heat winners.

The first heat is scheduled for 8:35pm, with the meeting expected to provide an important opportunity for several greyhounds to establish themselves ahead of the feature final.

Among the runners attracting attention is Electrojet, who has been listed as the early favourite for Heat 1. The preview describes the race as particularly even, meaning the position each greyhound obtains early in the race could have a major influence on the result.

Heat 2 features Matt Loch, who has recently returned from retirement. The greyhound returns to the track where he won the Pink Diamond Veterans event in June. He will face Joey The Jet, who is preparing for only his fourth start in more than a year.

Heat 3 is expected to provide one of the night's notable match-ups, with Impetuously and Canya Excite Me among the runners attracting significant attention. Both have demonstrated strong speed, according to the Greyhound Racing Victoria preview.
