Police later arrested a 55-year-old man from Yarrabilba at about 10pm on September 16. He was subsequently charged with multiple offences relating to dangerous drugs, firearms and other items allegedly connected with criminal activity.
The charges include one count of trafficking dangerous drugs, one count of supplying dangerous drugs and six counts of possessing dangerous drugs. The man was also charged with three offences relating to possession of things allegedly used in a crime.
Additional charges include two counts of possessing Category H firearms, relating to a handgun and muzzle loader. Police also charged him with possessing a relevant substance identified as gamma hydroxybutyric acid, possessing a drug utensil and possessing explosives in the form of ammunition.
The man was remanded in custody following his arrest. He is scheduled to next appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on October 19.
The operation was conducted by the Boondall Tactical Crime Squad as part of ongoing investigations targeting alleged drug and firearm offences across the Brisbane community.
The seizure highlights the range of items investigators can target during searches connected with suspected organised or serious drug activity, including controlled substances, cash, firearms and equipment allegedly associated with drug handling.
Police have not alleged that the accused has been convicted of any of the offences. The charges remain allegations and will be dealt with through the Queensland court process.
