Police said the two occupants were threatened inside the property. A brief physical altercation allegedly followed, leaving both occupants with minor injuries. The occupants declined an offer from Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics to be transported to hospital.

The alleged offenders then stole an Isuzu utility vehicle from the address and left the scene. Investigators began examining the circumstances of the incident and working to identify those responsible.

Police subsequently arrested one of the suspects at a Shell service station near the intersection of Bridge and Holberton streets on Wednesday evening, 28 October.

The man was charged with two counts of armed robbery and one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle. He was expected to appear before Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Thursday, 29 October.

Police have identified a second alleged offender and are continuing efforts to locate and arrest him. Authorities have not reported that the second suspect has been taken into custody.

The investigation involves allegations of forced entry, threats and the theft of a vehicle. Armed robbery is a serious criminal offence because it involves the use or alleged use of a weapon or threats in connection with taking property. The precise circumstances and evidence will be considered through the court process.

Investigators may examine witness statements, the circumstances of the alleged confrontation and information relating to the stolen utility vehicle as they continue their inquiries. Police have not publicly detailed any additional evidence or confirmed whether the vehicle has been recovered.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety of residents during alleged home invasions. Such incidents can leave occupants frightened and vulnerable, particularly when offenders are alleged to have entered a property while residents were present.

Police have asked anyone with information that could help identify or locate the second suspect to contact Policelink on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Information can be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers.

The case remains before the legal system. The accused man is presumed innocent unless the charges are proven in court, and police inquiries into the second alleged offender are continuing.
