An 18-year-old man from Murgon has been charged with 42 alleged property and vehicle-related offences following an investigation involving Brisbane and Kingaroy detectives.

Police allege the offences occurred between 4 September and 11 September 2026 across a number of locations in Brisbane and the surrounding region. The investigation involved property crime teams from several Brisbane policing areas working alongside detectives from Kingaroy.

The suburbs identified in the investigation include Ascot, Camp Hill, Carina Heights, Clayfield, Coopers Plains, Coorparoo, Hamilton, Heathwood, Holland Park, Inala, Margate, Moorooka, Murarrie, Oxley, Pullenvale, Stones Corner, Sunnybank, Wavell Heights and Wooloowin, as well as Kingaroy.

Investigators arrested the man on 11 September on Acacia Street at Heathwood. Police said the arrest was assisted by the police helicopter unit and the Brisbane Dog Squad.

The charges cover a wide range of alleged offences, including unlawful entry, attempted unlawful entry, alleged vehicle theft, stealing, property damage and possession of suspected stolen property.

Among the allegations are six counts of entering a dwelling and committing an offence, along with multiple counts involving attempted entry into homes at night. Some of the allegations involve offences said to have been committed with other people or while armed.

Police also allege the man was involved in several unlawful use of motor vehicle offences. Other charges include alleged break-ins, property damage, common assault and possession of suspected stolen property.

The investigation has been conducted as part of Operation Yankee Forge, a statewide Queensland policing operation targeting high-harm and high-volume property offences, unlawful use of motor vehicles, unlawful entry and robbery.

The operation is designed to coordinate policing activity across Queensland, with local police teams working alongside specialist units to identify repeat and high-harm offenders and disrupt alleged offending.

Police have said the operation places a strong emphasis on preventing property crime, reducing the number of victims and improving community safety.

The arrest followed extensive investigations by property crime teams from Upper Mount Gravatt, Holland Park, Hendra, Carseldine, Centenary and Indooroopilly, together with the Kingaroy Criminal Investigation Branch.

The accused man's police bail was refused. He is expected to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on 14 September.

The charges are allegations, and the accused is entitled to the presumption of innocence unless the allegations are proven in court.
