Western Australia Police are investigating a serious assault in the Geraldton suburb of Deepdale that left 43-year-old father-of-three Brodie Stokes critically injured. Detectives are examining whether the incident was linked to Mr Stokes confronting people allegedly hooning outside his family home on Friday night. Mr Stokes suffered severe head injuries and underwent emergency brain surgery at Royal Perth Hospital. A 22-year-old man from Utakarra has been charged with grievous bodily harm and is due to appear in Geraldton Magistrates Court on June 18.
