Former tow truck driver Michael Robert Garth has been jailed after the Supreme Court in Rockhampton found he operated a sophisticated meithamphetamine trafficking operation across 2023 and 2024. The court heard Garth relied on encrypted messaging platforms to coordinate large-scale drug transactions, including negotiations involving kilogram quantities valued at more than $80,000. Prosecutors said he supplied meithamphetamine at wholesale levels and enlisted others to assist with distribution throughout Central Queensland. Justice Graeme Crow sentenced Garth to nine years in prison, with parole eligibility from November 2027.
