The WA Government has launched the “Ask for Angela” campaign across regional licensed venues following a successful rollout in Perth’s entertainment precincts earlier this year. The initiative allows patrons feeling unsafe, vulnerable or threatened to discreetly ask venue staff for “Angela”, prompting trained workers to assist them by moving them to a safe place, arranging transport or contacting emergency services if needed. The campaign is being delivered in partnership with the Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety, the Australian Hotels Association WA, the WA Nightclub Association and support services.
