Multiple bushfires are burning in Glen Eden, Gladstone, with Queensland authorities issuing a “Watch and Act – Prepare to Leave” warning today. Fire crews are battling several blazes, including a grass fire along Glenlyon Road.

The fires began around midday and were moving quickly, prompting authorities to warn residents in affected areas to prepare for possible evacuation. Police have also closed roads around the fire zone and are urging motorists to avoid travelling through affected areas.

Fire activity has been reported around Kirkwood Road, Glenlyon Road and Dixon Drive. The intersection of Glenlyon Road and Dixon Drive was closed from approximately 12:20pm as emergency crews worked to contain the fires.
