Emergency services had to rescue multiple people this morning after flash flooding cut off residents in Alice Springs following a heavy downpour overnight. The deluge cut off several roads and low-level causeways this morning, leaving some residents unable to go to work or school. Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services issued an emergency warning due to flooding around the Todd River early this morning, but this warning was later downgraded to a watch and act warning.
