The Lincoln South Football and Sporting Club has celebrated the official opening of its new clubrooms, marking a significant milestone for one of Port Lincoln's leading sporting organisations and the wider Eyre Peninsula community.

The opening ceremony was held on 25 June 2026, bringing together club members, players, volunteers, government representatives and local residents to celebrate the completion of the long-awaited redevelopment. The upgraded facilities are expected to support the club's growing participation across football, netball and other community activities.

The redevelopment follows years of planning, fundraising and construction, with the project designed to provide modern, inclusive facilities for players, officials and spectators. The new clubrooms feature improved social spaces, upgraded amenities, better accessibility and facilities that can accommodate increasing participation by women, juniors and families.

Club officials described the project as one of the most significant investments in the club's history, recognising the contribution of volunteers, sponsors and government funding partners who helped bring the redevelopment to completion. They said the modern venue would strengthen the club's role as a community hub for sport and local events.

The upgraded facilities are expected to benefit not only Lincoln South members but also visiting teams and the broader Port Lincoln sporting community. Modern changerooms, meeting areas and function spaces will allow the venue to host a wider range of sporting competitions, presentations and community gatherings throughout the year.

The opening comes at a positive time for the club, which has enjoyed strong on-field success in recent seasons while continuing to expand junior development programs and encourage greater participation across all age groups. Improved infrastructure is expected to help attract new players, volunteers and supporters while ensuring the club can meet future demand.

Local leaders praised the redevelopment as an important investment in regional sport, noting that quality community sporting facilities contribute to healthier lifestyles, stronger volunteer networks and increased opportunities for young people to participate in organised sport.

Projects such as the Lincoln South redevelopment also provide economic benefits by supporting local contractors during construction and creating venues capable of hosting larger regional sporting events that bring visitors into Port Lincoln.

The official opening celebrated not only the completion of a modern sporting facility but also the dedication of generations of volunteers whose efforts have helped the club remain an important part of the Port Lincoln community.

With the new clubrooms now fully operational, Lincoln South is looking forward to welcoming members, supporters and visitors for many seasons to come while continuing to build on its proud sporting tradition.
