A 21-year-old man wanted on a domestic violence-related warrant was arrested after allegedly attempting to evade police by hiding inside a stormwater drain in Orange. Officers had attended several addresses in the area, including a home on McLachlan Street, where the man allegedly jumped a back fence and entered an underground drainage system near Byng Street. A 20-year-old woman at the property was also arrested for allegedly breaching bail conditions and is said to have pursued the man before he entered the drain. Police later located him using a drain inspection camera around 7:30pm and took him into custody.
