The 23-year-old has now been charged with 13 offences, including an aggravated robbery-related charge. Police also allege that the man was already on bail in relation to four other matters when the Palmerston incident occurred. The arrest and additional charges mean the case is now subject to further court proceedings.
The incident has highlighted concerns about the safety of workers at retail businesses and bottle shops, particularly when employees are confronted by people allegedly carrying weapons.
