Queensland Police have launched an investigation following an early morning break-in at a business in Norman Gardens, Rockhampton, where two men allegedly forced entry, stole cash, and fled the scene in a vehicle displaying false number plates.

According to police, the incident occurred at approximately 6:15 am on Tuesday, 7 July 2026, at a commercial premises on Yaamba Road. Investigators allege the offenders smashed a window to gain access to the building, causing minor property damage before entering the business.

Once inside, the pair allegedly stole a small amount of cash before leaving the scene. Police say the suspects escaped in a red Ford Focus that was fitted with false registration plates, making it more difficult to identify the vehicle.

Authorities have released descriptions of the two men in the hope that members of the public may recognise them or have information that could assist the investigation. One suspect was reportedly wearing all black clothing, while the second was dressed in a white jumper and black shorts at the time of the incident.

Queensland Police are now reviewing available CCTV footage from the business and surrounding commercial properties along Yaamba Road. Investigators are also seeking dashcam recordings from motorists who travelled through the area around the time of the alleged break-in.

Police believe witnesses or nearby businesses may have captured images of the red Ford Focus before or after the offence. Detectives are particularly interested in identifying the vehicle's movements leading up to and following the incident.

Anyone who saw suspicious activity in the Norman Gardens area during the early morning hours, or who has CCTV, dashcam footage, or information about the vehicle or the suspects, is urged to contact Queensland Police or provide information anonymously through Crime Stoppers.

The investigation remains ongoing, and no arrests have been announced. Police have not released the identity of the affected business while inquiries continue.

Authorities continue to remind business owners to ensure security systems, alarms, and surveillance cameras are functioning correctly, as CCTV footage often plays a critical role in identifying offenders involved in property crimes.
