The family of missing Bowen man Brett Breeze is continuing to search for answers nearly 10 months after he disappeared, with his sister making a renewed appeal for information about his whereabouts. Brett Breeze, aged 43, was last seen leaving Bowen Hospital on August 19, 2025, and has not been located despite ongoing efforts by police, emergency services and his family.

Brett’s sister Amanda Breeze said the disappearance has been extremely difficult for the family, particularly because his absence was considered out of character. She said Brett was someone who would normally stay in contact with his family and return home, making the lack of answers even more concerning.

Brett was reported missing after leaving Bowen Hospital on Gregory Street at approximately 4:30pm on August 19, 2025. At the time, his family was expecting him to receive further medical support, but he disappeared before a planned transfer could occur.

During the search for Brett, some of his personal belongings were discovered in a reserve area near Queens Road and Kings Beach Road in Bowen. Items reportedly found included his phone, identification, shoes and a Bible that his family said he rarely travelled without. However, Brett himself was not located.

Amanda said the family has faced ongoing uncertainty while trying to understand what happened. She has continued to provide information to police whenever possible and has encouraged members of the community to share any details, even if they appear small or unrelated.

The family has raised concerns about the early stages of the search, including difficulties obtaining information about Brett’s movements after leaving hospital. The health service responsible for Bowen Hospital said it could not comment on individual patient matters due to privacy requirements.

Brett’s disappearance has led to continued community interest, with local residents and volunteers assisting with searches and sharing information. Missing person investigations often rely heavily on public assistance, including sightings, CCTV footage, dashcam recordings and any information that may help establish a person’s movements.

Amanda said the hardest part for the family has been not knowing where Brett is or what may have happened. She continues to hold hope that he may still be found and that someone with information may come forward.

Queensland Police continue to encourage anyone with information about Brett Breeze’s disappearance to contact authorities. Information from members of the public can be important in helping investigators piece together the events surrounding a missing person case.

The Breeze family remains focused on finding answers and bringing Brett home. Nearly a year after his disappearance, their message remains the same: any information, no matter how small it may seem, could help solve the mystery and provide much-needed answers for his loved ones.
