Teen Charged After Alleged Redbank Plains Home Break-In and Car Theft - Redbank Plains, QLD

About 20 minutes later, at approximately 4:50am, police allege the teenager approached another woman who was sitting inside a parked vehicle on Piddington Street. According to police, he grabbed the 57-year-old woman's wrist and threatened her before leaving the area in her vehicle, a white Hyundai Kona. The second woman was also not physically injured.
Queensland Police subsequently began investigating the incidents and located the teenager at a Redbank Plains address at about 9:40am. Officers arrested him at the address and later located the allegedly stolen Hyundai on Owens Lane.
The teenager has been charged with several offences, including unlawful use of a motor vehicle, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle, trespass, wilful damage, common assault, stealing and possessing dangerous drugs. The allegations have not been tested in court.
He is scheduled to appear in Ipswich Children's Court on 2 October 2026.
Queensland Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the alleged offences. Police have asked anyone who may have information relevant to the investigation to contact Policelink or provide information through the Queensland Police reporting system.
The incident also appears in Queensland's current stolen-vehicle information, which lists a white 2026 Hyundai Kona stolen from Redbank Plains on 1 October 2026.
Residents are reminded not to approach or attempt to intercept a suspected stolen vehicle themselves. Queensland Police advise people who are witnessing a vehicle being stolen or following a stolen vehicle to contact Triple Zero (000) in an emergency.
