Police ultimately terminated the pursuit because of safety concerns. The vehicle was subsequently located abandoned on a nearby dirt track.
Investigators continued searching the surrounding area, using drone assistance to help locate people believed to be connected with the incident. The man was charged with two counts of supplying a prohibited drug in a quantity greater than a small quantity but not exceeding an indictable quantity, as well as an offence relating to allegedly failing to stop for police and driving recklessly during a pursuit. The woman was charged with possessing a prohibited drug.
