Two men have been charged following an investigation into an alleged aggravated sexual assault at a residential unit in Camperdown, in Sydney's inner west. NSW Police announced the charges on Friday, 6 November 2026.

According to police, the investigation began after officers received reports that an 18-year-old woman had allegedly been sexually assaulted at a unit in Camperdown on Saturday, 31 October 2026.

Officers attached to the Inner West Police Area Command established Strike Force Acuraton to investigate the allegations and identify those responsible.

Detectives conducted extensive inquiries over the following days, gathering information and following investigative leads connected with the reported incident.

On Thursday, 5 November 2026, at approximately 9:30 am, detectives attended an address in Holsworthy, south-west Sydney, where they arrested two men aged 20 and 22.

During the operation, police executed search warrants at two rooms within the property. Investigators seized mobile phones and clothing, which may assist with their inquiries.

Following their arrests, both men were taken to Liverpool Police Station for questioning and further investigation.

Police subsequently charged both men with offences including aggravated sexual assault in company, aggravated sexual touching and offences involving choking.

The two accused men were refused bail and were scheduled to appear before Liverpool Local Court on Friday, 6 November 2026.

The investigation was conducted by Strike Force Acuraton, with detectives continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the alleged incident.

The arrests represent a significant development in the investigation, which began following the report of the alleged assault on 31 October.

Police have not released the identity of the woman involved, and protecting the privacy of the alleged victim remains important.

The case highlights the work undertaken by specialist police investigators when responding to reports of serious sexual offences. Such investigations can involve collecting physical evidence, examining electronic devices, interviewing witnesses and establishing a timeline of events.

Authorities have not publicly disclosed further details about the relationship between the accused men and the woman. The full circumstances of the incident will be considered through the court process.

Both men remain accused of the offences, and the allegations have not been proven in court.
