Ausgrid has begun trialling its first-ever electric prime mover at its Somersby warehouse on the New South Wales Central Coast. The vehicle is being tested to assess its operational performance in real logistics conditions, with the trial expected to inform whether similar electric trucks could be added to its broader fleet in the future. The move has been described as a “game changer” in reducing emissions from heavy transport operations.
