how strategic planting can improve bushfire safety and property resilience. Pyrenees Shire Council is inviting residents to take part in a Fire Wise Planting Bus Tour Workshop aimed at helping communities in bushfire-prone areas design safer and more resilient gardens. Hosted by Pyrenees Community House, the free workshop will be held on Saturday, May 30, departing from the community house car park at 10am. Participants will visit Heritage Fruit Trees and Cave Hill Creek to explore examples of both European-style and native fire wise gardens and learn about suitable plant selection and landscaping strategies. The event is one of several initiatives funded through the Safer Together Program in partnership with local community organisations. A complimentary lunch will be provided, and bookings are essential. Additional activities planned under the program include a Fire Wise Garden Forum and Design Workshop in June, a Bushfire Resilient Homes Expo in October, a locally tailored planting guide, and the development of a Community Resilience Plan for Landsborough and surrounding districts.
