A 36-year-old man has been charged following a police search of a residential property in Kambah that resulted in the seizure of suspected methamphetamine, weapons and other items.

ACT Policing said officers executed a search warrant at the man's Kambah residence at approximately 4:30 pm on Thursday, 1 October 2026, as part of an ongoing drug-trafficking investigation conducted by Taskforce Invidia. The operation involved assistance from the Australian Federal Police Tactical Response Team. ACT Policing

During the search, police seized approximately 35 grams of a crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine. Officers also located a range of weapons, including two machetes, a tomahawk axe, three tasers, two batons, knuckledusters and various bladed weapons.

Police further reported seizing two vials of clear liquid suspected to contain steroids, along with clothing and paraphernalia police said was associated with the Comanchero outlaw motorcycle gang. The presence of these items was included in the police statement, but no further details about their intended use were provided.

The man was arrested and charged with six counts of possessing a prohibited weapon without authorisation and one count of trafficking in a controlled drug other than cannabis. He was expected to appear before the ACT Magistrates Court on Friday, 2 October 2026.

The search was part of Taskforce Invidia, an ongoing ACT Policing operation targeting suspected drug trafficking in the territory. Police have not publicly disclosed further details about the investigation, including whether other people are being investigated or whether additional charges are expected.
