Police are investigating an alleged targeted home invasion in Guildford West, in Sydney's west, after a group of about eight men allegedly forced their way into a unit and assaulted a man and woman.

Emergency services were called to a unit on Fairfield Road, Guildford West, at about 10pm on Sunday, 6 September 2026, following reports of a home invasion. Officers from the Cumberland Police Area Command were informed that a group of approximately eight men had allegedly entered the property through the front door.

Once inside the unit, the men allegedly assaulted a 42-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman who were at the property. The circumstances leading up to the incident remain under investigation, but police believe the attack was targeted, rather than a random home invasion.

Following the alleged assault, the group left the property and fled the area in two separate vehicles.

Police have described one of the vehicles as a black four-wheel-drive, while the second vehicle was a white dual-cab utility. Both vehicles were last seen travelling north along Fairfield Road shortly after the alleged attack.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended the property and treated both victims at the scene. The 42-year-old man and 38-year-old woman were subsequently transported to Westmead Hospital for further medical treatment. Both were reported to be in a stable condition.

Police established inquiries into the incident as detectives began working to determine exactly what happened inside and around the property. Investigators are examining the circumstances of the alleged forced entry, the assault of the two occupants and the movements of the men and vehicles involved.

At the time of the latest police update, no arrests had been announced in connection with the alleged home invasion.

Detectives are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in Guildford West around the time of the incident. Police are particularly interested in information about the two vehicles believed to have been used to leave the scene.

Investigators have also asked members of the public who were travelling along Fairfield Road around 10pm to check whether they have relevant dashcam footage. Mobile-phone recordings or other footage showing the vehicles or people involved could assist police with identifying those responsible.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Granville Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Information provided to Crime Stoppers is managed confidentially.

Police have reminded members of the public not to approach anyone they believe may be connected with the incident. Information should instead be provided directly to police or Crime Stoppers.

The investigation remains ongoing as detectives work to identify the men involved and establish the full circumstances surrounding the alleged attack.

The incident has raised concern in the Guildford West community, but police have indicated that the circumstances appear to involve a targeted incident. Further information or charges may follow as the investigation progresses.
