Surf Life Saving WA had already restarted helicopter shark patrols on Perth beaches ahead of the summer season. Weekend patrols began earlier in September, with daily patrols scheduled to increase from September 26. Authorities continue to advise beachgoers to follow Shark Smart warnings and temporary beach closures.
