The 30-year-old male driver of the second vehicle suffered minor injuries and was also taken to Port Macquarie Hospital.
Following the crash, police established a crime scene and officers from the Crash Investigation Unit began examining the circumstances. Investigators conducted extensive inquiries into the collision before taking further action against the driver.
On Saturday, 29 August 2026, police attended a home in Kew and spoke with the 30-year-old man. Following the investigation, he was charged with several serious driving offences.
The charges include dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, and failing to keep left of a median strip. Police issued the man with a Court Attendance Notice.
He is scheduled to appear before Port Macquarie Local Court on Wednesday, 14 October 2026. The court process will determine the outcome of the allegations.
