Emergency rural water fill stations serving Mudgee, Gulgong and Rylstone have returned to service after a software fault temporarily affected the facilities.

Mid-Western Regional Council confirmed that the water stations had experienced an outage caused by a software issue. The disruption affected access to the emergency water-filling facilities used by residents and rural communities across the region.

Council worked to identify and resolve the technical problem, with the affected stations now back online.

The facilities are particularly important for rural residents who rely on council-operated emergency water infrastructure when normal water supplies are unavailable or additional water is required.

The temporary outage highlighted the importance of reliable infrastructure and functioning technology in regional communities. For residents outside the main urban areas, access to emergency water services can be particularly important because of the distances involved and the limited availability of alternative supplies.

The return of the stations to service means residents can again access the facilities normally, reducing disruption caused by the software fault.

Mid-Western Regional Council operates services across a large area surrounding Mudgee, including communities such as Gulgong and Rylstone. Maintaining reliable water infrastructure is an important part of supporting households, farms and businesses throughout the region.
