Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a 13-year-old boy who has been missing from the Parramatta area in Sydney.

Hussain Sow Jnr was last seen on George Street in Parramatta on Wednesday, 2 September 2026. Police said officers became involved after the boy could not be located or contacted, and inquiries were commenced to establish where he may be.

Police and his family have concerns for his welfare and are asking anyone who may have information about his whereabouts to come forward.

Hussain is described as being of African appearance, approximately 155 to 165 centimetres tall, with a large build and short black hair. When he was last seen, he was wearing black tracksuit pants, black shoes and a black jumper displaying pink “Gee up” text on the front.

Police said Hussain is known to frequent the Eastlakes and Sydney CBD areas. This information may be particularly useful to members of the public who regularly travel through those locations or who may have seen someone matching his description.

The public appeal was issued on 16 September, with police asking people who may have information to contact Crime Stoppers. Information can be provided confidentially, and members of the public are asked not to submit information through NSW Police social media pages.

The circumstances surrounding Hussain’s disappearance remain under investigation. Police have not provided information suggesting where he may currently be, and the appeal is intended to help investigators establish his movements and locate him safely.

The appeal comes as police continue inquiries into the teenager’s whereabouts. His last confirmed sighting was in Parramatta on 2 September, making information from members of the public potentially important to the investigation.

At this stage, the priority is locating the teenager and confirming his safety.
