NSW Police have issued an appeal on Tuesday, 25 August 2026, seeking public assistance to locate 10-year-old Joziah Maharaj, who has been reported missing from Sydney’s south-west. Police said Joziah was last seen at Minto Railway Station at about 4pm on Friday, 14 August 2026.

Police said officers attached to Liverpool Police Area Command were notified on Saturday, 22 August, after Joziah could not be located or contacted. Officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command have since commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

According to NSW Police, both police and Joziah’s family have serious concerns for his welfare because of his age. Police also said he lives with a health condition. Investigators believe he may currently be in the Dundas Valley area and are asking anyone who may have seen him or has relevant information to come forward.

Police describe Joziah as having a slim build, black hair that is short at the front and long at the back, and a Māori/Pacific Islander appearance. Authorities are urging members of the community to carefully consider whether they may have seen someone matching his description, particularly in the areas where police believe he may currently be located.

The appeal is being treated as a matter of concern because of Joziah’s young age and the length of time since he was last seen. Police are continuing inquiries and are working to establish his movements and whereabouts.

Anyone who has information that could assist investigators is urged to contact Campbelltown Police Station or Crime Stoppers. NSW Police said information provided to Crime Stoppers is managed confidentially. Members of the public are also reminded not to submit information through NSW Police social-media pages.
