Victoria Police are investigating a targeted shooting in Melbourne's inner west after 48-year-old Fadi Haddara was critically injured outside a home in Altona North on Sunday evening. On Tuesday, 18 August, investigators released CCTV footage of a white Holden Commodore sedan with a rear spoiler, hoping members of the public can help identify the vehicle and its occupants.

Police said the Commodore was seen in the area around Haddara's home several times before the shooting. Investigators believe the vehicle travelled past the address between approximately 4:48pm and 5:45pm on Sunday, and at times was parked nearby for an extended period. Police are now asking anyone who recognises the vehicle or has relevant dashcam footage to come forward.

Haddara was found critically injured near his vehicle at a property on Marigold Avenue, Altona North, shortly before 8pm. Emergency services transported him to hospital with life-threatening gunshot injuries. As of the latest reports on 18 August, he remained in a critical condition at Royal Melbourne Hospital under police guard.

Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad are leading the investigation. Police have described the shooting as a targeted incident, although the exact circumstances and motive have not been established. Investigators have not publicly identified a suspect in connection with the shooting.

The release of the CCTV is an important development because investigators are trying to establish what happened in the hours leading up to the attack. Police are particularly interested in the white Holden Commodore because of its repeated presence near the victim's address. Reports have also described longstanding rivalries involving organised crime groups.
