Members of Australia’s Yazidi community say the return of several women linked to ISIS from Syrian detention camps has reopened deep trauma for survivors of the Islamic State genocide in Iraq and Syria. Many Yazidis living in Australia fled persecution, s*xual slav*ry, and violence carried out by ISIS in 2014. Survivors and community leaders are now calling for stronger support, transparency, and communication from authorities as the women and their children are reintegrated into Australian society.
