Port Macquarie residents are being warned to prepare for increasingly wet weather as a rain system moves across the Mid North Coast. The Port Macquarie-Hastings Disaster Dashboard forecasts an 80% chance of showers on Tuesday, with temperatures expected to range from approximately 11°C to 24°C.

The weather is expected to become wetter on Wednesday, when the chance of rainfall rises to 95%, with rain easing later in the day but a possible storm remaining in the forecast. Residents are encouraged to monitor updated weather information, particularly if travelling or planning outdoor activities.

Bureau of Meteorology observations from Port Macquarie Airport showed temperatures around 20°C during Tuesday morning, with winds from the north and gusts reaching around 32 km/h later in the morning.

The developing weather pattern could bring periods of heavier showers, reduced visibility and slippery roads. Motorists should take extra care during wet conditions and allow additional travel time where necessary.

The forecast indicates conditions should improve later in the week, with Thursday carrying only a possible shower before a mostly sunny Friday.
