A serious incident in Sydney’s west has led to criminal charges after a 17-year-old girl was allegedly stabbed during a group brawl near Blacktown West Public School on Friday afternoon, 4 September 2026. Police were called to the area at about 2:30pm following reports of a confrontation involving a number of young people.

According to police, the 17-year-old girl was allegedly involved in the incident when the confrontation escalated. During the brawl, she sustained multiple stab wounds. After the group reportedly left the area, the injured teenager made her way onto the grounds of Blacktown West Public School seeking assistance. School staff and emergency services responded and provided assistance while waiting for paramedics to arrive.

The girl was treated at the scene before being transported to Westmead Hospital for further medical treatment. Police said she was in a stable condition following the incident. The circumstances surrounding the alleged stabbing remain under investigation, including what led to the confrontation and the events immediately before the teenager was injured.

Following inquiries by officers, two teenage girls were arrested at Mount Druitt Police Station. One of the girls, aged 17, was charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and affray. Police opposed bail, and the teenager was refused bail following the charges. A second girl, aged 15, was charged with affray and was released on conditional bail.

During the investigation, police also searched a vehicle believed to have been connected with the incident. A knife was reportedly recovered during the search. Investigators are continuing to examine the evidence to establish the full circumstances of the confrontation and determine whether further charges may be laid.

Police are particularly interested in hearing from witnesses who may have seen the confrontation or the people involved before or after the alleged stabbing. Investigators are also appealing for anyone who may have mobile-phone footage, CCTV recordings, dashcam footage or other information that could assist the investigation to contact police.
