South Australian Police have arrested two men and a woman following a pursuit involving an allegedly stolen vehicle on the Eyre Peninsula.

Police said the incident began shortly after 6:30pm on Friday, 21 August, when officers received reports that a Port Lincoln home had been broken into. A Mazda utility and laptop were allegedly stolen during the incident.

Police subsequently located the vehicle and began pursuing it. The pursuit travelled across the Eyre Peninsula and continued for approximately 160 kilometres, before officers were able to bring the incident to an end.

The three people arrested following the pursuit are now facing police action in relation to the alleged break-in and stolen vehicle. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident remain ongoing.

Police have not suggested that the incident was connected to unrelated recent investigations in Whyalla. The arrests followed the earlier Port Lincoln property incident and subsequent vehicle pursuit.

The incident highlights the challenges faced by police responding to reports of stolen vehicles across regional South Australia, where long distances between communities can result in extended pursuits and coordinated police operations.

Investigators are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged break-in, the theft of the vehicle and the events that followed once police identified the Mazda utility.

Members of the public who may have witnessed the vehicle travelling through the region or have relevant information may be able to assist investigators.
