Townsville man Joshua James Troxell, 46, was sentenced in the Townsville Magistrates Court after pleading guilty to using a carriage service to menace, harass or offend. The court heard Troxell sent nearly 40 threatening and abusive emails to Services Australia staff between March and July 2025, including violent messages directed at workers and their families. Magistrate Jessica Keir described the conduct as shocking and distressing for employees who received the emails. Troxell was fined $1,200.
