Townsville cabaret dinner theatre Lux Noir has warned it may be forced to close by July unless community support and ticket sales improve. Co-founded by Debbie and Stuart Read, the venue employs up to 24 staff and stages multiple original productions each year, providing opportunities for local performers and creatives. The business said rising operating costs, economic pressures and competition from touring productions have made 2026 especially challenging. Their latest production, Get Rocked, features live music, comedy, aerial performances and a two-course dinner as the venue fights to stay open.
