A 30-year-old woman has been charged with nine offences after allegedly assaulting two police officers while attempting to avoid arrest in Port Macquarie, New South Wales.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:20 pm on Friday, 30 October 2026, when an officer attached to the NSW Police Dog Unit attended a restaurant car park on Gordon Street.

Police were attempting to speak with the woman, who was reportedly wanted in connection with three outstanding warrants.

According to police allegations, the woman exited an SUV shortly after the officer arrived and attempted to leave the car park. When the officer directed her to stop, she allegedly assaulted the officer before returning to the vehicle.

The woman then allegedly attempted to drive away again. During this attempt, the SUV collided with a parked hatchback and a pole, causing property damage.

Additional officers from the Mid North Coast Police District, supported by the Raptor Squad, arrived at the location. Police subsequently removed the woman from the vehicle and arrested her.

During the arrest, she allegedly assaulted a second police officer.

Both officers sustained minor injuries and did not require further medical treatment.

The 30-year-old woman also sustained minor injuries during the incident. She was initially taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital for medical assessment before being transferred to Kempsey Police Station.

Following further investigation, police charged her with nine offences.

The charges include two counts of assaulting police officers while they were performing their duties, hindering or resisting police, reckless driving, driving while disqualified and using an offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention.

She was also charged with property damage, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and stalking or intimidation with the intention of causing fear of physical harm.

Police further allege that the woman assaulted another 33-year-old woman in Port Macquarie on Friday, 23 October 2026.

The outstanding warrants against the accused were reportedly connected to domestic violence-related offences.

Following the charging process, police refused bail. The woman was scheduled to appear before Bail Division Court 1 on Saturday, 31 October 2026.

The investigation highlights the risks police officers can face when attempting to arrest people wanted under outstanding warrants.

Authorities have not announced further developments in the case. The charges will be considered through the court process, and the accused is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
