Following the death of the elderly man, police upgraded the charges from attempted murder-related allegations to murder. He was also charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent to murder and common assault relating to another alleged incident.
The accused appeared before Parramatta Local Court, where bail was refused. The matter will continue through the court process, and the allegations against Ash have not been proven. Under Australian law, he remains entitled to the presumption of innocence until the case is determined by the court.
