Mackay police have conducted a major operation targeting crime across the region, resulting in multiple arrests and the seizure of illegal drugs, a firearm and stolen property. The operation, known as Operation Mackay Vantage, involved local police, specialist units and aerial support between 31 July and 2 August 2026.

During the operation, police conducted searches and patrols across several Mackay suburbs as part of efforts to improve community safety and target high-risk offending. A raid at a property in Slade Point resulted in the seizure of a rifle, methamphetamine and items believed to be connected to stolen property offences.

Police said the operation involved support from Polair aerial surveillance, local officers and specialist teams. The use of aerial technology helped officers track a stolen vehicle before locating a property connected to alleged offences.

A 41-year-old man was charged with multiple offences, including alleged drug and vehicle-related matters, and is scheduled to appear in court. Police also carried out additional enforcement activities across the region, including random breath testing, street checks and inspections of non-compliant vehicles.

Queensland Police said operations like this are designed to disrupt criminal activity, increase police visibility and improve safety for residents. Mackay officers continue working with specialist teams to address issues including property crime, drug offences and dangerous driving.
