A major cyber attack has impacted Partnered Health, one of Australia’s largest private healthcare networks, with the company confirming that hackers accessed sensitive information from a number of its medical centres. The breach affected clinics operating across several Australian states and territories.
Partnered Health, which operates more than 50 general practice and skin cancer clinics nationwide, said the cyber incident involved unauthorised access to patient information. The compromised data may include personal details such as names, dates of birth, contact information, Medicare details, insurance information and medical records including consultation notes and referral documents.
The company identified that 21 clinics were affected by the breach, with impacted locations spanning areas including New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia and the ACT. Some Queensland clinics, including locations on the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast, were among those linked to the incident.
Partnered Health said it became aware of the cyber attack on 23 June 2026 and immediately began working with cybersecurity specialists, law enforcement agencies and government authorities to investigate the incident and secure its systems.
The company has advised affected patients to remain alert for possible scam messages, emails or phone calls that may attempt to misuse stolen personal information. Patients are encouraged to use strong passwords, enable multi-factor authentication where available and avoid sharing sensitive details with unknown contacts.
The breach has raised further concerns about cybersecurity protections in Australia's healthcare sector, where medical records are considered highly sensitive because they contain long-term personal and health information.
Authorities and cybersecurity experts continue to investigate the attack, while Partnered Health works to notify affected patients and prevent further misuse of the stolen information.
