The Australian Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) has issued a Strong Wind Warning for Saturday 13 June affecting the following Queensland coastal waters:
🌊 Peninsula Coast 🌊 Cooktown Coast 🌊 Cairns Coast 🌊 Townsville Coast 🌊 Mackay Coast
The warning is in effect until midnight EST Saturday 13 June, with strong southeasterly winds of 20 to 25 knots, increasing to 30 knots in offshore areas across parts of the warned coastline.
Marine Safety Advice ⛵ Small craft operators should exercise caution or reconsider offshore activities. 🦺 Ensure life jackets and emergency equipment are onboard and accessible. 📻 Monitor VHF radio and official weather updates while at sea. 🌊 Expect rougher sea conditions and increased wave heights, particularly offshore.

Cairns Coast: Winds may reach 30 knots offshore north of Cairns during the afternoon. Townsville Coast: Offshore areas south of Cape Bowling Green could experience 30-knot winds during the morning and early afternoon. Mackay Coast: Offshore waters north of Hamilton Island may see 30-knot winds during the morning.
