Cairns and surrounding communities are preparing for a major weekend of music, culture, entertainment and family activities, with a packed program bringing together local performers, artists, community groups and visitors across the Far North.

Saturday's program features a wide range of events, giving residents and visitors several opportunities to experience live music, cultural celebrations, markets, workshops and entertainment. One of the major events is Stratford Sounds, which is returning with a program featuring about 30 artists across seven venues. The event is being held under new local leadership and offers free entry, with performances beginning from the morning. The Women of the World Festival is also reaching its conclusion in Cairns on Saturday. The final day features markets, conversations, workshops, fashion, comedy and entertainment at the Bulmba-Ja Arts Centre. Further south, the 62nd Babinda Harvest Festival is bringing another major community celebration to the region. The event includes markets, a tractor pull, a grand parade, live entertainment, children's rides and fireworks. Activities begin at the Babinda Showgrounds, with the grand parade scheduled for the afternoon before the evening entertainment continues.

The Yarrabah Music and Cultural Festival is also taking place, highlighting music and cultural expression within the community. The program includes performances and a special documentary honouring musicians who have passed away, while also providing a platform for younger creatives and emerging talent.

At Machans Beach, the annual Moon Over Machans event is offering an afternoon and evening of markets, food, music and family activities. Novelty races are among the activities planned, followed by live performances later in the evening.

Cairns Showgrounds is also hosting a major trading-card event during the weekend. Organisers are bringing together more than 40 tables featuring Pokémon, One Piece, sports cards and other collectibles. The event is expected to attract collectors and enthusiasts interested in trading and viewing valuable cards.

Entertainment continues at Hemingway's Brewery, where a professional wrestling event is scheduled as part of the weekend program. The event features live wrestling bouts and is designed as an entertainment experience for audiences looking for something different from traditional weekend activities.

The Cairns Indian Festival is another major cultural event taking place at Fogarty Park. The program includes Indian cultural performances, food, market stalls, music and dancing, with the celebrations continuing into an evening Bollywood event.
