Serious concerns are growing for the welfare of Gold Coast magician and mentalist Daniel Hidden after the 26-year-old mysteriously disappeared and his vehicle and caravan were later found abandoned in Queensland’s Currumbin Valley.
Hidden was last seen leaving a property on Chelsea Avenue in Broadbeach on the Gold Coast at approximately 3am on June 14. According to Queensland Police, he was driving a silver Hyundai Santa Fe with Queensland registration 672LI3 and towing a Galaxy caravan. Shortly after leaving the address, his mobile phone is believed to have been switched off, and there has been no confirmed contact with him since.
The disappearance has sparked a major search effort and significant concern among family members, friends, and investigators. Police located Hidden’s Hyundai Santa Fe and caravan in a car park on Currumbin Creek Road in Currumbin Valley at about 3pm on June 16, two days after he was last seen. However, there was no sign of Hidden, and his whereabouts remain unknown.
Family friends had initially suggested that Hidden may have been travelling toward the nearby Springbrook region before his vehicle was discovered in Currumbin Valley. The area is known for its rugged terrain, dense rainforest, and remote walking tracks, prompting concerns that he may require urgent assistance.
Police have described Hidden’s disappearance as out of character and said both investigators and his loved ones hold serious fears for his safety and wellbeing. Authorities are continuing inquiries and are appealing to the public for information that may help locate him.
Hidden is a well-known figure in southeast Queensland’s entertainment industry. Performing as a mentalist and deception artist, he has built a reputation for interactive mind-reading shows, psychological illusions, and live performances across Queensland and other parts of Australia. His unique style and engaging stage presence have earned him a loyal following within the entertainment community.
Adding to the mystery surrounding the case is a message currently displayed on Hidden’s professional website, which reads: “Transformation requires disappearance.” While the statement has attracted attention online due to the circumstances of his disappearance, there is currently no evidence linking the message to the ongoing investigation. It also remains unclear when the message was posted.
Queensland Police are urging anyone who may have seen Hidden, his vehicle, or caravan between June 14 and June 16 to come forward. Investigators are particularly interested in any CCTV, dashcam footage, or witness accounts from the Broadbeach, Springbrook, and Currumbin Valley areas that could assist in tracing his movements.
Anyone with information about Daniel Hidden’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact Queensland Police or Crime Stoppers immediately. As the search continues, family, friends, and supporters remain hopeful that the young performer will be found safe and reunited with his loved ones.
