Four students were taken to hospital after a suspected drug overdose at Brisbane Water Secondary College on Friday morning. Emergency services were called to the school in Umina at about 11am following reports of a drug-related emergency involving several students. Seven ambulances attended the scene and assessed around 15 students. Four students were transported to hospital in stable conditions as a precaution, including several taken to Gosford Hospital. Paul Edmonds said early action by school staff helped manage the situation before paramedics arrived. Authorities have not confirmed what substance may have been involved, and the ages of the affected students have not been released. The incident prompted a significant emergency response at the school, with police and paramedics remaining on site during the assessment of students.
