Two motorcycle riders have suffered life-threatening injuries following a serious collision at Oxenford on the Gold Coast.

Emergency services were called to Entertainment Road at about 9pm on Sunday after a collision involving a red Honda NVS50 moped and a black Suzuki GS500F motorcycle.

The crash resulted in serious injuries to both riders. A 24-year-old man riding the moped and a 30-year-old man riding the motorcycle were transported to Gold Coast University Hospital for emergency medical treatment.

The severity of the injuries prompted a major emergency response at the scene. Emergency personnel worked to assist the injured riders and manage the crash site while investigators began examining the circumstances surrounding the collision.

The incident occurred on Entertainment Road in Oxenford, a northern Gold Coast suburb. The road was the focus of the emergency response while authorities dealt with the consequences of the crash.

The collision involved two different types of motorcycles, with the red Honda NVS50 moped and black Suzuki GS500F motorcycle both involved. The impact left both riders seriously injured and requiring hospital treatment.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the incident. Investigators are seeking information that could help establish what happened before and during the collision.

Police have appealed to members of the public who may have witnessed the crash to come forward. They are also seeking relevant CCTV footage that could assist the investigation.

Witnesses may have information about the movements of the motorcycles immediately before the collision, road conditions or other circumstances surrounding the incident. CCTV footage from nearby properties or vehicles could also provide investigators with additional evidence.

The investigation highlights the importance of establishing the sequence of events in serious road crashes. When a collision results in life-threatening injuries, investigators examine available evidence to determine how the crash occurred.

For the two injured riders, the immediate priority following the crash was medical treatment. Both were taken to Gold Coast University Hospital after sustaining life-threatening injuries.

The incident also required emergency services to respond quickly to the scene. Road crashes involving motorcycles can require significant emergency resources because riders have less physical protection than occupants of enclosed vehicles.

The circumstances surrounding this particular crash remain under investigation. Authorities have not yet established publicly all the factors that contributed to the collision.

Police are therefore relying on witnesses and available footage to assist the Forensic Crash Unit. Information from members of the public can be particularly useful when investigators are reconstructing a crash and determining what happened immediately beforehand.

The crash occurred on a Sunday evening, when traffic and local activity can continue across the northern Gold Coast. The incident brought emergency services to Entertainment Road and resulted in serious consequences for both riders involved.

The investigation will continue as authorities examine the available evidence and seek information from the public.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has relevant CCTV footage is being encouraged to contact police on 131 444.

The incident serves as another reminder of the serious consequences that can result from motorcycle collisions and the importance of establishing the circumstances behind major road crashes.

For the Gold Coast community, the investigation remains ongoing while authorities work to determine exactly how the collision occurred and what factors contributed to the injuries suffered by both riders.
