A woman and a young boy have been rushed to hospital after a large tree branch fell onto a group of people at Guyatt Park in the Brisbane suburb of St Lucia. Emergency services were called to the popular riverside park shortly before 6:00pm on Wednesday after multiple witnesses reported that a substantial branch had broken away from a tree and landed on people gathered in the park.

On arrival, crews found an adult woman with an injured arm and a boy, believed to be around 10 years old, who had suffered injuries after being struck by the falling branch.
